What to Test in Demo Mode
The demo is an ideal environment to assess several key aspects of Wanted Dead or a Wild before playing with real money.
Volatility and Win Frequency: The game is high volatility, rated 4 out of 5. Use the demo to experience the typical frequency of wins and the potential for long sequences without a payout. Observe how the base game can feel uneventful, with the main action concentrated in the bonus features.
Feature Triggers: Pay attention to how often the VS symbol and the three scatter symbols appear. The VS symbol can expand to cover a full reel and trigger a multiplier duel. The three bonus rounds, The Great Train Robbery, Duel at Dawn, and Dead Man's Hand, are triggered by specific scatter symbols. The demo helps you understand their rarity.
Bet Sizing and Strategy: Experiment with the full bet range available in the demo. Note how different bet levels affect your virtual bankroll over time. This can inform your money management strategy for real-money play.
Strategic Considerations for High Volatility and Fixed Max Win: Understanding the interplay between the high volatility and the fixed maximum win of 12,500x the bet is crucial. The high volatility means winning spins are less frequent, but potential payouts are higher. The fixed maximum win acts as a definitive cap on any single round. If this 12,500x cap is reached during a feature, the round ends immediately. The game's RTP of 96.38% represents a theoretical average over an extended period, but a player's session RTP can deviate wildly in the short term due to the high volatility. This makes bankroll management critical. Strategic play involves patience, as the game places greater emphasis on triggering the bonus rounds where the most significant wins occur.
Demo Play Versus Real Money Play
While the gameplay is identical, there are fundamental differences between the demo and real-money versions. The table below outlines the key distinctions.
| Aspect | Demo Version | Real Money Version |
|---|---|---|
| Credits Used | Virtual, unlimited play money | Your own deposited funds |
| Financial Outcome | No real wins or losses | Actual monetary wins and losses |
| Purpose | Learning and entertainment | Gambling with chance for profit |
| Feature Buy | Often available with virtual credits | Available where permitted by law and the casino |
| Player Age | Typically no strict verification | Must be 18 or older, with account verification |
| Max Win Impact | Purely conceptual | The fixed max win of 12,500x your bet is a real cash prize |
Playing the Demo on Mobile Phones
The Wanted Dead or a Wild demo is fully optimised for mobile play. It uses HTML5 technology, meaning it runs directly in the web browser of smartphones and tablets without needing a separate app. The game interface adjusts to fit smaller screens, and all features, including the bonus rounds, are fully functional. The touch controls are designed for fingers, making it easy to adjust bets and spin the reels. The performance and visual quality on mobile are comparable to the desktop experience.
Common Mistakes When Moving to Real Money
Players transitioning from the demo often make predictable errors. Being aware of these can lead to more responsible play.
Misjudging Bankroll Requirements: The high volatility means extended losing streaks are normal. A common mistake is using a bankroll that is too small for the chosen bet size, leading to rapid depletion of funds.
Overestimating Bonus Frequency: The demo may give a skewed perception of how often features trigger. In real-money play, the bonuses are less frequent due to the high volatility. Patience is required.
Chasing Losses After a Demo Win Streak: A lucky session in the demo does not predict real-money results. Attempting to replicate a large demo win can lead to irresponsible betting.
Ignoring Terms and Conditions: Always read the casino's terms, especially regarding bonus wagering requirements and game contributions, before playing with real money. In Nigeria, real-money online play should only take place at sites licensed by the National Lottery Regulatory Commission and relevant state gaming authorities. Players must be 18 or older.
